Delta Woods & Water Expo

Join us for the 2nd Annual Delta Woods & Waters Expo, highlighting the second largest river delta in the U.S. Discover the rich history of the Mobile-Tensaw Delta and how to enjoy, care for and preserve this environmental showplace. Experienced outdoorsmen, professionals and hobbyists will give hands-on demonstrations of outdoor skills such as kayaking and small boat handling, knot-tying, camping using the "Leave No Trace" philosophy, duck and bird calling, sporting retrieving dogs, archery, fishing, use of a cast-net and more. Nature enthusiasts will learn to identify animal tracks and wildflowers, as well as critters, birds, gators and snakes indigenous to the Delta. Hear about 18th century naturalist and artist, William Bartram, through documentation of his 1775 journey through the Delta. Our desire is to pass on to today's children the skills of past generations, some of which are being lost and forgotten. Our mission is to educate today's youth so that they have the skills to enjoy this beautiful area in which we live, while helping them understand the importance of caring for and preserving its beauty. We hope your family will join us! Call 251-626-4884 for more information.
