Lloyd Owen's Canoe Trail

The Lloyd Owen's Canoe Trail on the Tallapoosa River offers access to some of the most beautiful undisturbed scenery in Alabama. The river is mostly flatwater with many small shoals. This section of the Tallapoosa offers paddlers of all skill levels an unforgettable experience.

There are many choices for access. One of the two main access points on the Northern end of the trail is Dryden's Mill Campground. Exit 210 off I-20. Follow CR 49 North for 2 miles. Turn left onto CR 448. Follow this road for 1-2 miles, dead end at campground. The main access point in the mid-point of the trail adjacent to Tallapoosa River Outfitters. Exit 205 off of I-20. Flollow Hwy 46 East for 3 miles. Cross the Perry Hand Bridge, boat ramp is on the left. There are several other access points throughout the trail but they do not have any facilities available.
