The Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex, which contains a concert hall and major sports arena, is 10 minutes from the Birmingham International Airport. The adjacent Sheraton Birmingham offers 770 guest rooms. The Renaissance Downtown, Tutwiler and Redmont hotels are among 12 hotels offering a total of 2,500 downtown hotel guest rooms and suites. A $40 million entertainment district, "The Forge," is scheduled to open in 2010 at the convention complex.

Two hotels in suburban Hoover are major meeting destinations. The 329-room, four-diamond Wynfrey Hotel has 32,000 square feet of meeting space. It adjoins the Riverchase Galleria, with 250 stores – one of the South's largest enclosed malls. The Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf Resort & Spa is ranked among the top 500 hotels in the world. Its 18-hole golf course is the world's third-longest. Ross Bridge is part of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail Resort Collection.

The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame and the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum are popular off-site venues for Birmingham/Hoover convention delegates.
